Dedicated to service in conservation

Lakes, woodlands, ancient sand dunes, native prairie, picnic grounds, Scout facilities, wetlands, and Senior Hall with it’s collection of memorabilia and art make up the 193 acres of the Homewood Izaak Walton Preserve.

We host many events throughout the calendar year, including the Fourth of July Village Picnic, a November Turkey Raffle, Art Gallery events, and regular nature talks and presentations in our newly renovated Senior Hall (named after Art Senior, the gentleman largely responsible for the existence of the HIWP).

It is our members' contributions and volunteerism that make the Preserve such a wonderful place to enjoy nature. We are completely self-supporting and all proceeds go to the maintenance of the preserve.

Everyone is welcome, but please remember that to fish or walk your dog you must be a paid member of the preserve.
